Pardonnez-moi

It has never been much of a secret to people, or to myself, that I can be quite brutal when stating facts. Sometimes, I'm just too impatient to find ways to skirt around hurtful words and just bluntly say things that pop into my head. In short, I'm usually tactless. Other times, I'm just plain careless. But contrary to what most people probably think of me, I don't like nudging people's sensibilities. I don't like stepping on other people's toes either. And this might be a hard concept to grasp, but some people do know how to make up their own minds... and stand by them--come hell or high water. And I am one of them. I don't know why?! But with every set of friends I make, this concept seems to be quite hard for them to swallow. Why?! I just want to dodge those seemingly inescapable monikers "bitch" or "ice queen" for a change. Is that so hard to comprehend?! Yes, I know. Some people find it irresistible to goad me because I'm a p...

An Ode to Easily Bored Hands

Doing crafts is among my fave activities, and teaching them to kids was among the things I loved as much. However, when I let go of a well-paying job to free my soul from bad compromises and found myself out of sorts, I decided to give up the teaching gig because frankly, I couldn't afford it anymore. :P As much as I would like to continue, circumstances--not to mention finances--have changed. So I have to learn how to adapt... or perish from inevitable depression. Thinking about this still makes me sad sometimes. But at least they are only twinges now... not gloomy lachrymose showers. ^_^

Time is...

mighty complicated to set up!!! I have been trying to replace the clocks we had at the office for different timezones and I just discovered this. So before I figure out how to do these things properly and where to host them permanently... this should suffice for the time being. :D U.S.A.   Alaska Daylight Time        Hawaiian Daylight Time          Pacific Standard Time       Mountain Standard Time             Central Standard Time        Eastern Standard Time             CANADA Newfoundland Daylight Time        Atlantic Daylight Time                    British Columbia                          Toronto and Quebec                ...

Walking Barefoot with Argyle Tights

Last Thursday. The day started quite all right. I got up with a groggy head and zigzagged down to the bathroom to take a shower in less than 15 minutes. Took a purple dress from the closet, put on my fave black argyle tights, and fixed my eyes and hair in record time. And when my eyes spied the time, which then had less than 10 minutes than I needed to not be tardy at the office, I skedaddled out of the house. At the office. I got more disappointments for not getting the sales I desperately needed. Got reprimanded for not having a supercomputer for brains, thus not finishing my writing according to his highness' expected time frame. I shrugged and bought lunch. Ate while working... and tried no to fall asleep from dehydration during the rest of my shift... all because I refused to pass through the Hall of Harangues to get water. End of shift. Discovered that my fave white ballet flats, which are over 2 years old, are falling apart as I was walking towards the mall... to the ...

The Awesome Dark Knight

Originally posted on July 21, 2008 Ciao! This is going to be my first entry regarding a movie. Don’t get me wrong. I love movies. I have been addicted to them since I was a little girl who was dragged by her father to the movie theater to watch Superman. Well, I was not literally dragged, but my father was the one who introduced me to the world of movies. All right, I’m digressing. The point of this whole “enchilada” is that I just saw one of the best movies this year. I never thought I would “gush over” a comic book character in a movie when so many of them have been popping out into the screens of late. But here I am, and yes I am “gushing over” it. I have always been interested in Bruce Wayne’s alter ego. I think he is one of the most interesting heroes because he actually has no innate super powers. This fact makes him more human, which is why I like him better than most comic book heroes. However, when the last movie was sensationalized by Katie Holmes’ seemingly crazy hook u...

A Reaction to Obscurophobia

I personally know a few people who behave like this. They seem forever restless. It's like they're deathly afraid to pass even a second of having the attention of nobody. They crave so much for it that they fall short of actually accosting you physically just to get you to notice them. I'm painting rather pitiful pictures of these beings, am I not? But I'm serious. I really do know people like these. I'm quite curious. Do they fear the possibility of experiencing obscurity for a few measly minutes or hours? Why is that? What is so scary about experiencing seconds, minutes, hours, days, or weeks of being unnoticed? I perso...

What Closet?!

Originally posted on October 9, 2007 “I am not attracted to girls!” I have been reiterating that statement time and time again that I think the impact of it has gone stale. Yes, I don’t have a boyfriend. And yes, I have never had any before in the whole of my almost twenty-seven years here on Earth. So what?! That doesn’t  mean I am not attracted to the opposite sex nor does it mean that I am now entertaining the idea of going after “Eve” instead of “Adam”. I mean, come on! I don’t deny that I can appreciate beauty in women. I appreciate beauty in any form. I gush over sunsets and sunrises. I “oohh” and “aahh” over cute babies and even those not so cute ones. I get thrilled when I find a book with a particularly nice front cover. I almost hop, skip, and cartwheel (if I could) for joy when I’m about to see a movie with a cutie in it, even if the cutie will just put in a ridiculously brief cameo. Seriously! That’s how I am when it comes to beautiful creatures or things, regardl...
