A day of being the Proverbial Tourist in the Merlion City

I recently went rummaging through my ginormous photo library and I discovered this bunch of pictures I took from my last Singapore visit. All right, originally I went there for serious reasons but when I got this final sinking feeling that it wouldn't pan out, I just let go and decided to have fun on my last days there. Joan was with me all the way. She already went sightseeing in this beautiful city before and so she happily escorted me around. And that day, we went to the stereotypical tourist destination in SG; Sentosa Island. :P To be fair, the place is not boring. I actually had a surprisingly good day... that day. (Haha. I just ran out of vocabulary there.) Anyhoo... so there we were, Joan and I, playing tourists and taking tons of photos, as tourists are wont to do. And here I am now, blogging about it... to commemorate the day, so to speak. On our way to the island...  Our first stop... Universal Studios. But we couldn't go inside because I found

I knew I shouldn't have worn mascara

Last Thursday was quite a day for me. I went to see the last Harry Potter movie... and tried not to smudge my carefully applied mascara all over my face. Oh yes, I wear makeup now; lipstick, blush, eye shadow, mascara... the works. But I digress. You see, I've actually anticipated the lachrymal tendencies going hyper-drive because, well, I've read the book. I remember I actually had swollen eyes and could barely finish reading the thing even before I got to the epilogue when I read it. But I guess all the excitement and anticipation while I was getting dressed for the cinema chased some rational thoughts out of my frenzied head( no rubber jokes, please) and I forgot that mascara and the high possibility of tears is not exactly a nice combo. Fortunately, I was able to prevent the black smudges by trying to hold the waterfall by holding my breath and dabbing incessantly at the sides of my mascara-ed eyes. I bet my seatmates were wondering why I was taking my 3D glasses off ever

Save the Trees... Drink Tetra Pack Water

I was working on a post for my boss when I discovered this cute--and I think "sweet"--tidbit. You see, I've never been much for the "Save the Trees" crusade. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't believe in it. I just think it would be a bit hypocritical of me to be a crusader for this when I love nice-smelling tangible books so much. Sorry trees. However, whenever I spy something that supports the "Save the Earth" bit, it just tugs at my heartstrings--if I really do have those. And the same thing happened when I spied these cute "tetra pack water". Don't you think they're just adorable? I surely couldn't stop smiling when I saw them. They're so adorable. (Just felt I had to be redundant here. Hehe.) If you want to find more Earth-friendly packaging for water, you can check this link . c",)

Hello, old friend! :D

It has been half a year already since I had regular office days and spent regular office hours. But I don't really miss the life that much. All right, I admit. I miss the monotony of regular office hours, but not the office... or the bosses. Definitely not the bosses. :P Although, I've got to also admit... I miss some of the dear people I was fortunate enough to discover there. You guys know who you are. :D But aside from those teeny tidbits, I'm happy to be working for someone I like (not to mention, respect)... for a change. I keep my own hours. I can quit anytime I want. Most importantly, I do NOT have to pay the darn taxes. Hehe. However, when I woke up at 2pm today and rummaged through the kitchen while I made my own lunch, I discovered an old office friend I didn't know I missed until I spied her inside our plastic cupboard. (I know! It borders on a run-on. Ignore it. :P) I almost forgot I brought her home with me that last day. She was a faithful one. I calle
