Prettily sliced apples, anyone?

A friend just came back from her recent Singapore trip. I was a tad jealous because I couldn't afford to go myself but she brought me something from the Merlion City that I couldn't resist grinning when I heard about it. It's a trinket I've been wanting to have ever since I spied one in IKEA SG a few months ago. Yup, I'm a collector of nonsensical--but cute--trinkets. I was whopping when she sent me a message that she was able to find me one. It's not actually the one from IKEA but it's lovely nonetheless. IMO, it's prettier than the one I saw. Haha.  And now I couldn't help but use it whenever I can, which would be every few hours--if I had any say about it. :P Danke schoen, Donabel schön! I simply adore it! :D

More Pixies from That Torturous Adventure

More proof of torture from that proverbial "poisoned" apple... :P Kidding! I actually had fun, despite my sore and tired limbs the next day.  (I bet people are sighing now and saying, "At last, there's one with her.") :D

My Beautiful Okasan, the Lovable Contradiction

She is not one whom you'd call a typical housewife. She is no soft ultra feminine woman with the perfectly coiffed hair. She is an Amazon. She is strong and opinionated. She gets things done--and done to her exact specifications--while she donned a frilly woman's blouse, form-hugging pencil skirt, and high heels. She is the epitome of the 21st century woman. And she was, and still is, awesome to behold. I miss her tons. And I know she misses us, too. But this is the way of the world. And people have to plod on and be strong somehow. But we love her still. Oh yes, we love her a whole darn lot. And I just wanna yell to the world how proud I am she's my mom, this strong and capable woman who have made me strong and independent... who have made me "me". :D We love you, Ma. And this may be a day late, but I hope you had a great birthday! I just found this old photo of her. She was so pretty in it I couldn't resist sharing. :P

Some Torture for the Masochistic

During Halloween, a bunch of ladies at the office won some prize for having the cutest photos. Yay! (especially since I took some of them. :P) And the prize was a stint at Cebu's latest mini theme park; Rainforest Park. My teammates were quite ecstatic to have won. I was excited because I was thinking I'd have some chance to indulge the shutterbug in me again. Haha. And heck if I didn't get that very chance. I took over 700 photos during the whole afternoon and now I'm making my fingers sore trying to edit them all.  Anyways, here are some photos from that day.  The Lying Sign! What rides?! There were no rides there at all. They were all tools for indescribable torture! :P Some annoying assistants... Some of my pretty teammates... The ladies getting ready to be roasted in the sun More pixies coming soon!!! because I only stole some time from work... and resources from the office... Shhhh! :P

Just in time for Halloween

Having two days off is quite a treat for me these days 'coz it's not every day you're forced to stay at home and rest, especially when you're just new to the job. Well, you have to somehow impress the boss, right? So they'd think you're worth keeping, so to speak.  So what did I do during the first two non-working days of November? I washed "some" of my laundry (because I have more than a heap and I don't have enough space to hang them all to dry), and I binged on TV. Yes! I watched the tube almost non-stop. Haha. On top of that, I just discovered two new very enchanting shows; Grimm and Once Upon a Time... and I was as giddy as a little girl waiting for her parents to get home with a tub of yummy chocolate ice cream.  Grimm is about a cop who turns out to be a descendant of supernatural profilers... people who catalogued supernatural creatures and hunted those that are dangerous, sort of like peacekeepers between humans and supernatural crea

All Hallow's Even 2011

New office, new friends... same old fun. I just love parties where you don't have to come as yourself. There's just something so liberating about being someone else for a change, even if it's only for one night. But cheapskate that I am (sometimes), I recycled some concept from years past. Actually, as long as I get to wear a black dress and dark makeup, I'm all set for Halloween.  This year, I used recycled wings from two years past though so they were a bit frayed. And when the gang got to IT Park, I didn't bother putting them back on. As usual, I know I wouldn't win so I didn't bother. Yes, yes, I'm a bit of a pessimist... but hey, I just think about it as being a realist, is all.  Anyways, here are some pixies from that night.  Kate as the Dark Fairy... I think that blur is Juliet. Hehe. Scary Mode Jay Ann helping yours truly with my recycled pixie wings and black lace dress, courtesy of the lovely Achinette. Molto grazie for the dress!
