To new friends and new adventures

I have not been very visible anywhere on cyberspace lately. I could give the typical excuse of being busy but I would be lying if I did. The truth is... I just didn't feel like writing anything. Oh yes, I wrote articles for work. But that's another thing altogether. Different motivations, different results. Or maybe I was just simply being lazy... I think that's the most likely reason. I'm not really very eager to delve into it right now. :P

Well, here I am now... trying to squeeze out something coherent from this lately seemingly airy head I have on my shoulders. I guess I'm still on that cliched "adjustment period" and so pardon me for the confusing prose.

Anyway, I now have a new job. Yay! I just celebrated my "month-sary" last October 20. I can't say I have fully adjusted, I doubt I ever will. I was never the sociable type, so having to always be nice and friendly to strangers is a huge challenge for me. Not to mention, most of these "strangers" are quite newbies to the English language. I have a suspicion I will forever feel out of place. But then I've always prided myself for my so-called "courage of spirit". So don't worry, I will not be flying the white flag anytime soon... I think. Hehehe.

By the way, out of all the upheavals I've had the past few months, I've gained some nice things, too. Well, it's always nice to gain new pals. And these pretty ladies certainly fall into that category.

Getting sunburned in Daanbantayan

I went to this nice resort in Daanbantayan for a weekend trip last month. And no, this is not the island, this is still within the main island of Cebu. Ley and I took the bus. This is not the bus terminal. I took this at one of the pit stops. :P It's been so long since I took the public bus somewhere that I forgot you buy the ticket while the bus is already running, not before you board the bus. Yup, I was a bit of an ignoramus that day, or a really amnesiac person. Haha. Anyways, while we were on the bus, I fell asleep. And since I took the window seat, this was what happened... A blessed month... this one we call January

Many of my friends and some of my family were born this month. I do not exactly know if they were born on gloomy or sunlit days. But I do know this, my world has been made more beautiful because they were. More specifically, four of my most favorite people in the world were January babies. *Bella Dona* (10th) She is one of the wisest and kindest people I know. She has both been a staunch supporter and chastiser in my world. She transforms into one or the other from time to time, whichever I need the most at that time. And she is among the first to turn 31 in our batch this year. Hehehe! But never you mind, Don. 31 is just a number. What matters is that your heart is in the right place. Right? If you're one of my cyber friends, you'd think I barely read these days because of the lack of book posts I've done lately. But actually, I'm still at it... at a much slower pace, albeit. But I'm still at it. I'm just so overwhelmed with other stuff that I barely have time to write for fun, which I think is quite sad. Downright depressing sometimes, I tell you! Anyways, the last book I've finished--that I could still remember--is The Dark Horse by Marcus Sedgwick. I've had this book for years. You see, I collect books I think I want to read and just dump them in boxes whenever my bed becomes too crowded and start to smell like an old library.
