The months of May and June have come and gone. The days for celebrating both our parents have passed. But it doesn't mean we stop being grateful and respectful children. Or that we stop acknowledging the fact that we owe both our parents so much for sticking by us all these years, patching our wounds, and consoling our broken hearts.
So let us find ways to always remind them in small and simple ways that we're lucky to have them.
To my Mama and Ninang,
You are both such wonderfully awesome people and beautifully strong women. I'm so lucky to have you both to emulate. May God bless you both always.
To my Papa,
You are my best friend and I thank you for always understanding my numerous quirks. And you introduced me to books, music, and movies--three things I've cherished since I was a little girl. I'll be forever grateful. Besides, who else taught me to recognize the voices of Elvis Prestley, Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand, Madonna, The Beatles, and all the other greats at the age of five?
