Lovely Trusty Ballet Flats

Cute adorable shoes are among the many things I just can't resist. But it's so hard keeping them these days... what with all the alternating rainshowers and blistering heat my city is so prone to, I could hardly keep any pair for long--unless they're sneakers, of course. Sneakers are such hardy pairs. But I could hardly wear sneakers with cutesy dresses, can I? Cebu may be a tad fashion forward these days, but it can only stand so much non-conformity. In my opinion, anyway. And people at the new office might decide to give me a memo for committing such a fashion crime. Joke! So, I have always had pairs of girly girl shoes handy around the house, just in case... especially ballet flats. I just adore them. Unfortunately, their usual lifespan is about 4 to 8 months. Sometimes, they last for about a year, which would be stretching my luck already. If they're over a year old, I usually get nervous that they'd fall apart any minute I'm out of the house. One time, I actually had to traverse the mall barefoot... looking for cheap slippers so I could go home. Thankfully, my argyle tights didn't get ripped. :P and I conveniently forgot how embarrassing an experience it was a day or so after. Hahaha. So no harm done.

Now that I have a new job, I can buy new things again. I was so ecstatic when I got my first paycheck that I was literally giggling over the treasures I brought home a couple of weeks ago. They're such delightful comfy companions for my feet. I'd hug them to sleep if I could just forget that they've been kissing the streets--both the dusty and the muddy kind. :P

Got them from Metro Ayala... and found them courtesy of a really good friend. Thanks, Yam!
And each pair only costs under two hundred pesos. Awesome! Right?

And yes, that reddish dot on my left foot is a scar, courtesy of that stupid dude on a bike that rammed into me. *facepalm*

Never you mind that. I have new flats... and they are so purdy... and so comfy... and oh so cute! Now I know why the world didn't end last December. It was so I could meet these two pretty things. ^_^

A blessed month... this one we call January

Many of my friends and some of my family were born this month. I do not exactly know if they were born on gloomy or sunlit days. But I do know this, my world has been made more beautiful because they were. More specifically, four of my most favorite people in the world were January babies. *Bella Dona* (10th) She is one of the wisest and kindest people I know. She has both been a staunch supporter and chastiser in my world. She transforms into one or the other from time to time, whichever I need the most at that time. And she is among the first to turn 31 in our batch this year. Hehehe! But never you mind, Don. 31 is just a number. What matters is that your heart is in the right place. Right? Right! :D *Lovely Lola Natang* (25th) She was my first ally ever since I came out and greeted the world with my annoying baby cries. She was the one who first took care of me when my Mama immediately went back to work after my natal day. And she was always the first to enthusiasticall...

The Dark Horse by Marcus Sedgwick

If you're one of my cyber friends, you'd think I barely read these days because of the lack of book posts I've done lately. But actually, I'm still at it... at a much slower pace, albeit. But I'm still at it. I'm just so overwhelmed with other stuff that I barely have time to write for fun, which I think is quite sad. Downright depressing sometimes, I tell you! Anyways, the last book I've finished--that I could still remember--is The Dark Horse by Marcus Sedgwick. I've had this book for years. You see, I collect books I think I want to read and just dump them in boxes whenever my bed becomes too crowded and start to smell like an old library. So I have tons of books I've had for years but never really read. Lately though, I've been rummaging inside the aforementioned boxes because people have been asking to borrow some of my books. And the nerd in me gets excited when I get to convince people to read... so rummaged the boxes, I did. And in ...

Getting sunburned in Daanbantayan

I went to this nice resort in Daanbantayan for a weekend trip last month. And no, this is not the island, this is still within the main island of Cebu. Ley and I took the bus. This is not the bus terminal. I took this at one of the pit stops. :P It's been so long since I took the public bus somewhere that I forgot you buy the ticket while the bus is already running, not before you board the bus. Yup, I was a bit of an ignoramus that day, or a really amnesiac person. Haha. Anyways, while we were on the bus, I fell asleep. And since I took the window seat, this  was what happened... And it hurt like the dickens!!! :(   But the place was lovely.  We arrived at the resort around noon.  The place was lovely and I couldn't stop taking pictures. :D ... even when the weather got a tad gloomy late that afternoon. When dusk came, I was excited to take some twilight shots, which are among my faves. The next day, Ley and I took more...
